The courses lead to the most recognised qualification in the Bowen Technique through the only private training organisation recognised by the Federation of Holistic Therapists, the UK's largest therapist body. In addition Bowen schools are members of the BCMA and has all its modules accepted by BTER, Europe's largest and only independent Bowen organisation.
The modular format for training in The Bowen Technique, has been proven to develop students to the highest standard available and is now the example followed by other schools. This makes the Bowen training courses we offer the most comprehensive course of study in The Bowen Technique currently available.
The Bowen modular training system spreads out the learning in order to ensure that students are competent in each procedure, before moving on. This method ensures the highest standards of practical skills in The Bowen Technique.
Bowen teachers undergo six consecutive months of training, comprising several hundred hours of teacher training and assessment. These are the only teachers in the field of Bowen to undergo such training. In addition, continuous training is given to all Bowen teachers and social weekends also assist in the process of building a solid and supportive team, who in turn are able to provide a unique quality of training and support for students.
Support for students is a primary concern for Bowen and our office is manned five days per week. In addition all our teachers are available via mobile phones, faxes or e-mail, to answer questions or assist with any problems that might arise between modules. Students may contact any Bowen teacher with questions, if their own teacher is not available.
The training notes include comprehensive and user friendly materials. At the secondary level in addition to the standard notes, students are presented with exclusive full colour Bowen photo guides, featuring all the moves, showing directional arrows and placement tips.
In the past we have taught only in the UK and Eire, but in 1999 we began teaching in Holland, and now have courses in Sweden, Spain, South Africa and Iceland. For details of other European and world wide venues, please contact Julian Baker.
Each module can be taken with any teacher in any venue or country that suits the individual. The first ever system of formal assessment in The Bowen Technique was introduced in 1998 and in 1999 was expanded to consist of a practical examination and a written paper. Anyone not attaining the pass level required can retake the assessment at a later date at no extra charge.
Advanced modules are available after accreditation featuring elements of light touch therapy never taught before. In addition other workshops are offered to accredited students, including workshops for working with disability and the anatomy of injury, with Helen Kinnear.
